The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the grain market participants determined the volumes of wheat for export in 2017/18 MY.

The result was the signing of the relevant annex to the Memorandum of Understanding between business entities and grain exporters.

The conference was etended by the representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, State Procurement Service, Ministry of Infrastructure, “Ukrzaliznytsia”, economic entities – grain exporters, profile associations.


«Expected storage of export are agreed upon, annex to the Memorandum is signed. This year we insert several innovations in the Memorandum. In particular, such positions as maize, rye and barley were excluded, since there is no threat of food security for these crops. The annex, if aplicable, will be reviewed by us in January 2018,», — said the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Elena Kovaleva.

According to the annex, the storage of the wheat, migh-mosh of wheat and rye ( meslin ), which can be exported in 2017/18 MY, are determined at the level of 16.5 million tons. Including:

  • group A and B wheat (I-V classes ) – 10,7 million tons;
  • non-food wheat (grade VI and non-class) – 5,8 million tons.

In addition, for the first time at the conference releted to the grain market was held a discussion of the export potential of the oilseed market in Ukraine – an increase in the production and export of fat-and-oil products with high added cost.

Previously was reported that Ukraine in January-September 2017 exported 11.96 million tons of wheat for $ 1.89 billion.
